When you finally hover on that Expedition sign-up screen in ARC Raiders and think about locking it in, it feels less like a menu click and more like a contract, especially if you have been grinding for that one rare drop or chasing a specific ARC Raiders BluePrint for days. The game makes it pretty clear you are not just queueing for a quick run; you are about to flip your whole account into a different state. Players who rush this bit often regret it, because once you confirm, the game stops being forgiving and there is no soft backpedal or quiet reload of an old save.
The Warning Hits Different
When you actually hit the option to sign up, the interface suddenly feels a lot more serious, and that big warning prompt is not there for decoration. You will see bold, usually red text telling you your Raider is packing up and leaving Speranza for good, and it is not exaggerating. People sometimes assume there is a hidden safety net, but there is not. No manual save to roll back to, no "are you really sure" secret second chance; once that Expedition takes off, the current version of your Raider's world is gone.
What You Really Lose
This is the part that catches a lot of players off guard. The wipe is pretty brutal if you go in unprepared. You are saying goodbye to your Stash Upgrade levels, every item sitting in your inventory, and all those Blueprints you have slowly stacked up over a bunch of evenings. Your Coins, your current Player Level, and every Skill Point you have invested in your build all get reset. Even the Raider Den and Workshop progress you have been tweaking bit by bit is wiped out. It feels harsh, but that is the cost of stepping into a fresh cycle where the game expects you to rebuild from almost nothing.
What Survives The Reset
The game is not totally ruthless though, and that is why long-term players stick with it. Anything that shows your history rather than your current stash usually stays. Unlocked maps and Codex entries remain open, so you are not stumbling around like a newbie again. Raider Tokens, Cred, and Merits are safe, and so is your Raider Deck progress, leaderboard position, and the Trials you have already cleared. The stuff people care about most, like cosmetics, event progress tied to your account, and the bonus Skill Points or extra stash slots unlocked from past Expeditions, carries over as well. You still look like someone who has put in the hours, even if your pockets are empty.
Why People Still Do It
Confirming your sign-up also does not boot you out of the game right away, which is easy to miss; if there is time on the Expedition timer, you can keep running raids, burn through bosses, and scoop up last-minute loot while knowing that this version of your Raider is already marked for departure. Whether it is worth it comes down to how you see your progress; the loot you lose is temporary, but the permanent bits, especially those exclusive skins and long-term unlocks that shout you were there for that season, stick around. For a lot of players, the trade of a full stash for long-lasting rewards, and maybe one more rare cheap BluePrint in U4gm on the next cycle, feels like the right kind of gamble.
