It was during my summer vacations, so 6weeks. But thats enough. I'd love to go to school there, but was impossible... :(

Hm... Only half year abroud... Thats bad. I want to make a year or an half year too, but with the G8-school system, its really difficult.
Man, you're lucky :D
Yeah, tell me about it, I know.
I'm the first G8-grade in my school, and it's not so easy to get along with it, because my teachers don't really know what they should do with us, so it sucks -.-

I think abbout spending three month in canada at the end of my sophomore-year. (In this case my 11th class)

My dead also doesn't work anymore (damn navy - he had to stop working with 58.. hope he will get a new job soon) but still we'll kinda find our way to get me through university. And I have four brothers, so believe me - it wasn't always easy for us either. For example I'll get a part time job, so my parents have to pay less. And if you really have problems to pay for it there are ways for people who can't afford it. The bigger problem wouldn't be the university itself but the year abroad, 'cause it's also quite expensive if you don't get a sponsorship for it..
You scared me, when I read "your dead" :D
But sadly it's not so easy to get a scholarship, so it could be a problem :/

Haha, I know what you meant, it was just a little confusing to read :D
Oh of course, in my last economics & politics class we discussed the inequalities of opportunity in how to get accepted in university. My Eco & Pol teacher is a little special, that's why she's on the opinion that non-academically students are worser than the academically students. Like they're not worth to get accepted into university. I mean, my parents arent's graduates, but that doesn't mean they're stupid, they always supported me and comments like those just drive me nuts -.-

oh yeah, I hate comments like that too. I actually know many people who didn't even get their a-levels but still I would count some of them to the most intelligents persons I know.

Oh... I hate it too!!
My English teacher trys us to learn it, but it's really difficult...

My big sister was in the USA for three month and I think I'll do something like that in 10th grade...

It's annoying how some people judge other because of their school or academic status of their parents -.-

I think I'm pretty good in using them, even though I'm sure I still do it wrong sometimes. But the bigger problem for me: teaching them. I have no idea how I've managed to get quite good marks in english, since I forget nearly every single rule I've ever learned. But okay I've got the same problem, when I should teach german. Of course I can use our grammar, but explain the rules behind it? No way. I'm wondering where I've been, when we learned all that stuff in school.

Well, I think I'm pretty good in writing some english texts (for my grade). My problem is the speaking! Speaking English with my friends is not the problem, but speaking in our Englisch lessons. I can say I'm getting better and better, but not as good as I like to be.

@Stella:
I know what you mean, I also have high expectations of my english skills but you have to accept it, that sometimes you can't be as perfect as you want to be. But you can be proud that you're so good in writing and focus on this.
Are you to insecure to speak in the class? I had this problem, too, but I started speaking in front of my mirror which helped me a lot. Or just think that the others aren't there, ignore them, maybe this helps, too. I hope I could help you :)

Well, sometimes I am speaking English in my head. Perhaps it sounds crazy, but it really helped me.
