Well, I really love this language, too. And this year, we'll fly to Canada for 4 weeks - I'll have to speak english the whole time. *will be fun*
At school, I learn english, too, and my marks are actually very good
Do you learn British English or American English at school? I like Amrican English more... why, I don't know.
This Thread is really magnificent, thanks *Anna*
I think everybody learns British English at school.. I prefer British English, because it sounds cooler.. American English is very hard to understand and so.. I love London and I want to live there some day.. I always wanted to go to the United States, but I have some relatives in Canada; I met them first this summer.. And I just can say: They're so great..
My cousin is 17; just like me; and you know, he's allowed to drink alcohol with 17 in Austria; in Canada the "drinking-age" is 19^^ Yeah.. we were drunken almost every day :)
And so I'm going to visit them next summer in Canada*
When we learn English at school, at first it's British English, but later, in the 7th Grade, we have to speak like an american. I don't think it's good, because now we have to change the whole accent during a year! Sometimes, a guy in my class is speaking with a french accent, just for kidding the teacher (I hope this sentence makes sence ^//^)
@ miss panny lane
cool, I have some relatives in Canda, too.
I think, this is the most beatiful country in the world.
When we learned for example a british word, like rubbish, we actually had to learn the american word, too - trash.
I think that's good, now I can decide between american and british - in accent and in words, too
That´s my story:
My mum is chinese and my dad is german. They met in China. My dad couldn´t speak chinese and my mum not german so they talked in english. When I was burn we still lived in China and I learned english and chinese. I had to learn english otherwise I couldn´t speak with my dad and this would be a big mess! First I went to a chinese nursery than to an english nursery. After the english one I was send by my dad to a french one. Then we moved to Bangladesh. I learned a bit Bangla (the language there) but when I was four we moved to Germany. Here I learned german with TV watching and I also went to a german nursey. Now a lot of people can´t believe that I learned german so late because I have in the subject german the grades one or two! Other german kids in my class are worser then me!
i'm so excited.... this monday i'll go to Poole for two an a half weeks... in a family with my best friend... i hope the family is nice and we can live there xD has someone been in poole yet?
