Is that year inthe USA organized by your school or did you have to do it all by yourself?

I decided by myself, that I want to go to the USA, but it is organized by an organisation, which looks for a family and book the fly and so on.

That's amazing!
I have been in the US, too! It's a gorgeous country and the people are just amazing. I have never met other people who are just like the Americans! And I have been in many countries! Americans are terribly nice and so amicable!

Yes, that does't work. But because I'm proud of my home I have to say, that we in the South are more chilled than the northern people.
It is. I'm looking forward to. ;)
You are in Indonesia at the moment, aren't you? Do all the people there understand English or do they have their own language?
Oh, I don't think so... I've only been learning it for 4 or 5 years at school and never had to talk very much. So I can't get better. Only watching English Films and reading books isn't enough easily.
Haha, I would say the same about northern germans, we're definitely more relaxed. ;)
They have their own language (bahasa indonesia) and most people can't speak english at all. But I'm mostly surrounded by people who can speak english, of course, since my bahasa is still crap.
At least you're reading and watching in english sometimes. It can make a big difference. One of the girls who's working with me, never watched a movie or read a book in english, so especially in the beginning she had a lot of problems, and usually I had to explain everything to her again in german (watching the hobbit was quite much fun, I had to explain the whole movie afterwards. ;) )
And Bella-: have fun there! I bet it will be amazing. With wich organisation will you go?
And don't worry 'cause you don't have a family yet. I got my family maybe two weeks before I left, of course we didn't had that much contact before, but it was still okay. ;)

Haha, I think everyone, would say that about the people in the area he lives.
Then, you are lucky! :)
Oh, thats great fun. I wanted to watch the Hobbit in Englisch, too. But it was only in the cinema at eight a clock, and so I wasn't allowed to, because it ended after 10 a clock.

I'll but the DVD and watch it in Englich as soon as possible.
What are you doing in Indnesia? Can you just enjoy your time or do you have to work?
@Chloe: I don't read all my books in English, but many. E.g. the Harry Potter books, the lord of therings, and other. But I of course read German books too.

You're probably right with that. ;)
I didn't watch it in German yet. ;) But here most of the foreign movies are still in English and with subtitles, that's quite good for me, I love to watch movies in english. ;)
Do you want to buy the normal dvd or are you waiting for the extended edition?
I have to work, it's pretty much the same like a 'FSJ' in Germany.

@ Sonea: Me too! But unfortunately, I can only watch them in English, if I have got the DVD, beacuse, on TV the films are always German.
I think, I'll but the normal one. The other is really expensive and my money is to less...
Ok, so you're doing social work, aren't you?

Yeah usually it's the same for me of course. I'm really happy that it's not dubbed here. :)
Yeah, good point. But I think I'll wait for the extended edition, even though it's more expensive. But if it's as good as the extended editions of lotr I won't care about the money
Yeah, I teach english and everything else I've ever learned. Many of the students can't even pay their school fee, so we organize sponsorships for them and beside that we teach them a lot, what they never would learn at school. The school system here is not really good, so even if they go to school it doesn't really help them in their future.

I don't know the extended edidion of Lord of the Rings, only the normal one. How long is it? (The normal one needs already 3h)
Maybe I'll look, how expensive it is and maybe I'll buy it...
Oh, that sounds interesting, but like hard work. But you earn money, don't you? Atherwise it wouldn'd be something, i'd like to do....
How old are the pupils you teach?
