I think it's good that some contests exists. Tragedy: I'm out of school. But I think I will never win something with my english. You see. English is quite important in this time. And if you can win something, it's a Anspurn (don't know the englisch word

).

I also think that's a good idea. But like Zerafina I'm already out of school.
I tried to write some storys in english lately but it sounds horrible. So back to german for creative writing again. But for reading I prefer english, same for watching movies. It's such a beautiful language if you can you use it.
Since I have to speak english every day I notice that my english is pretty close to good. I'm not the best and I still do a lot of grammar faults, but it's enough to teach them here and I mostly notice my faults directly.
Funny thing I have to say: I just read all your post with typical german accent in my mind. Not nice

Nice idea, this only english-thing!
Espescially since I can´t sleep at the moment. And half of the time I even think in English - pretty annoying in German tests. I just love this language.
If there is no reliance on the boys to have parties when I can´t sleep I have to find something else to do xD I can hardly call them like "Hey, get up, buy alcohol, we meet at M´s and someone will have to drive me home afterwards." Not a good idea
Sooo... Did I want to tell something important? Don´t think so.
Sorry for spamming your thread. Just needed a minute off German xD

I totally agree. English is such an beautiful language. But my fault was, that I have never learned the vocabulary and the grammar. And now, unfortunately, I have some problems.
I prefer watching films in original version/language (for me it is only german and english, other languages are not so good, so far). Some synchronous voices of the actors are so bad or annoying. But some sounds better in german, but only a few. (:
I like reading english books, because the "hand of the author has written" all the words (if he or she is english). I like it.

I love English even more than German tbh. English is a very smooth and gentle language and I love to read and to speak it. But I prefer the American English, even though the British English is kinda sweet too. :)
Especially the Scottish accent (Billy Boyd, right sonea?

)!
And I agree with you, Sonea. Books are losing their magic when you're reading the translated version. Same for the movies.

I love brithish english, love the different accents, so lovely. It's kind of gentle, I always think of the old aristocrats.
German is hard, many says it is unsexy, but i like it.

Everybody loves this English thread.
Yes, when I was in 5th grade, I was fifth of my school and got a little book.
In 6th grade, I was first of school and got a DVD, two books and a brochure, I think...
And in 7th grade, I was first of school and third of Hamburg, got a little cup, a shirt an electronic dictionary (includes german, english and even french), a book and a real certificate...
that was so great!!!
Now I'm in 8th grade an I will particpate in again, same in 9th grade and then my beautiful Big Challenge time has to come to an end.
