it doesn't matter wether it's from an english book, english lesson, a song or an english movie.
everyday we're confronted by english and this affects us pretty much.
well, me at least and I think the majority of you too ;)
You're SO right on this... my boyfriend's whole family is speaking english at home, because his father is from england, his mother is a teacher and he himself grew up bilingual. Whenever I spent some time with them, I find myself mixing up german and english sentence structures, which is really weird. When I talk to my boyfriend in german it is no problem, but others are always confused
I also think in english very often, and I refuse to watch the Harry Potter movies in german since I watched them in english for the first time. Must have been, like, three years ago...

see?! i'm not the only one here

i've family in south carolina. my aunt emigrated thirty years ago to columbia and since then we've to vistit her very often. last year i visited her the seventh time in my life and i'm just nearly 19 years old ;D
but it is quite annoying to switch between two languages. even though it is a good practicing and i'm glad to have family over there with which a can improve my english. the more i can get the better i'll become ;)
ivanima:
What other books do you like, exept of HP and Lord of the rings?
I mostly read fantasie novels. There is a book series called "Die Gilde der schwarzen Magier" by Trudi Canavan which I recommend.
oh quite alot.

let me see...i'll just list the books ;)
sherlock holmes (ohh, i love these books <3)
all jane austen books,
peter pan,
all bronte's,
on stranger tides,
life (actually, it is a biography of keith richards,i really love to read it though),
artemis fowl,
"kreis der dämmerung" (it's from ralph isau and he's a german author :)),
inkblood (i've to confess, i merely like it in german, not in english ;))
and so on...
i'm a glutton for books

mostly, i borrow them from the libary, my book collection at home isn't that small though
how about you? :)

I love Sherlock Holmes, too, but I just listened to the audio books.
I also read Artemis Fowl but I was too young to understand everything. Other books I like are:
- Idhún
- Bartimäus
- "Die Kinder des Dschinn" (In English I think it's "Children of the lamp")
- Eragon (I am still waiting for the last book

)
- Percy Jackson
- House of night
- Katze fürs Leben
- the Inkworld books
- Malfuria
- the Thief Lord
- Dragon Rider
aand so on...
As you see I am a very big fan of Cornelia Funke. When I was younger I always wanted to be like her and to write books. Now her books just remember me of my childhood
I have many, many books at home and my space is running short. A friend of mine sells her books when she finished reading but I can't do that! I don't know why but I love my books and I don't want to sell them, even if I am not going to read them again..
But most of the time I also borrow the books from friends or from the library. What do you think of E-books?

Hi (:
I did! What do you want to know? (I wrote these things in English, French, Spanisch and German, so I think I'm quiet good at it)

okay. sounds good. Why you both have to wirte them in so many languages?

Just a little problem are the capital letters - I have no idea when I have to use them... For example:
personal skills and competences: kayak instructor
or
Personal skills and competences: Kayak instructor
or totally different?
Next Problem are my work experiences. For example: I've made a internship in a bookstore called 'Buchhandlung Prien'. I'm not sure if I have to write 'Buchhandlung Prien (bookstore)' or if I should translate it like 'bookstore Prien'...
It would be cool if one of you could help me. :)

I´m pretty sure it has to be the second one. Looks sensible to me, and it's definitely not the other one
Concerning your 2nd question, I'd personally write it like you did in your example:
Sonea Ginevra Inava hat geschrieben:I've made a internship in a bookstore called 'Buchhandlung Prien'. I'm not sure if I have to write 'Buchhandlung Prien (bookstore)'
Either you actually write 'internship in a bookstore ('Buchhandlung Prien')' or the other way round 'internship at the 'Buchhandlung Prien (bookstore)'', I think they're both good...
